EAA AIRVENTURE OSHKOSH - The 56th annual edition of EAA "The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration" was held from July 28 till August 3. 2008 at Wittman Regional Airport. Each day the grounds was filled with outstanding activities that made every day at AirVenture a unique event in itself.
Some figures :
This year's attendance, -estimated at 540.000- and more than 10,000 aircraft arriving at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh and other airports in east-central Wisconsin.
The total amount of showplanes, -2,516- includes 972 homebuilt aircraft, 822 vintage airplanes, 404 warbirds, 114 ultralights, 131 seaplanes, 40 aerobatic aircraft and 33 rotorcraft.
Also 797 commercial exhibitors booths were counted.
2,128 internaional visitors registered from 71 nations, with Canada (492 visitors), Australia (299) and Brazil (186) the top three nations. ( This total includes only non-U.S. visitors who register at the International Visitors Tent) and 865 media representatives from five continents covered the event.
The total of estimated campers (fly-in and drive-in camping areas) was over 37,000.

Sun 'n Fun 2009 - A spring break for pilots and aviation enthusiasts.
Sun 'n Fun organized for the 35th year, and this year from April 21st till 26th 2009 is known by most pilots as the kick off to the air show season.
For many pilots, it's also reminiscent of spring break, especially for those from the North have had a long winter and looking forward to coming down here for the friendly weather the friendly people and the friendly activities on the Sun 'n Fun site.
Of course, the spring break theme resonates with all pilots and not just these from the North.
Every April, tens of thousands of aviation enthusiasts from around the world make their annual springtime trek to Sun ‘n Fun. As one of the world’s premier aviation events, Sun ‘n Fun features
more than 4,500 airplanes, 500 commercial exhibitors show- casing the newest products in the industry, a daily air show and a Friday "night air shown' with some of the world's greatest aerobatic pilots.
During the six-day event, Lakeland Linder Regional Airport becomes the busiest airport on the planet, with more than 40,000 recorded aircraft movements.

EAA AIRVENTURE 2006 - JULY 24-30 - THE WORLD'S GREATEST AVIATION CELEBRATION -
EAA AirVenture welcomes each year more than 10,000 aircraft to the weeklong celebration, along with a total attendance of approximately 800,000 visitors from more than 60 nations.
EAA AirVenture 2006's features and attractions included this year :
* The "Big Bomber Reunion" with a rare British Lancaster bomber; a vintage B-24; plus several B-17s and B-25s;
* More than 300 Warbirds that include fighter airplanes from World War II and classic fighter jets, many flown in spectacular shows throughout the week,
* The American Barnstormers Tour, bringing a high-flying parade of aircraft from the Barnstorming Era of the 1920s and 1930s;
* Military aircraft such as the B-1B bomber, C-17 transport, and A-10, F-16, F/A-18 and F-22 "Raptor" fighters;
* A variety of special programs, from the Hallmarks of Homebuilding and the 50th anniversary of the famed Cessna 172, to the new innovations of the Very Light Jet generation
* More than 2,500 showplanes that include homebuilt aircraft, vintage models, ultralights, seaplanes and much more.

On 3rd & 4th of June 2006, l'Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis organized for the 34th consecutived time the "Fête Aérienne de l'Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis" at the Cerny - La Ferté-Alais authentic airfield south of Paris, home of the exceptional collection of airplanes of Jean-Baptiste Salis and his son Jean.
During two days aviation enthusiasts could admire nearly 150 airplanes from different decades of the past 100 years of aviation history during an 8 hours lasting airshow.
Lots of milestones in aviation history, as the first flight attempts, the crossing of the Channel, and dogfights during WW I are every year again reactivated with magnificent original biplanes or perfectly rebuild replica's from Bleriot XI, Breguet 14, Morane Saulnier H, Spad XIII, SE-5a, Caudron G3, Fokker Triplane and many others.
On the other hand, Spitfires, P-51 Mustangs, F4U Corsair, Morane-Saulnier 406 C1, Curtiss H-75, B-17 "Flying Fortress", Messerschmitt 109 and of course the JU-52 masterpiece of the Salis collection brought back the memories of WW II
The "Fête Aérienne" de L'Amicale J-B Salis is surely one of the most attractive airshow on the Continent. So mark the week-end of May 26th-27th 2007 in your agenda for your next "rendez vous" with aviation history the "French Way".

Wings over Houston Airshow 2007

The 23rd annual Wings Over Houston Airshow at Houston's Ellington Field was held Saturday and Sunday, October 6-7, 2007.
Despite the sometimes stormy and rainy weather, the performances of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the many warbirds, as the brand new restored B-24 "Ol 927, the "Tora Tora Tora" WW II act, the USAF and US Navy Heritage flights and the power demo's of the F-4 "Phantom", F-15, and F-18 were very much appreciated by the thousands of aviation enthusiasts who resisted the sometimes heavy rain showers.
The Wings over Houston Airshow 2008 is planned for 25 & 26 of October 2008.
